The Death-House, uni & The Wet Rice Revolution

Wed Oct 15, 2003, 4:16 AM
Phew, so I'm finally back at uni, and it's about time too!
However, since I've been booted out of Pembroke along with the other 2nd years I'm having to live in a little student house in Cowley, which has all the usual fun things student accommodation is famous for, including no hot water for the first couple of days, threatening letters from the electric company trying to cut off our power, a wacky circuit breaker that shuts off everything a couple of times a week, and no electricity in our underground damp-smelling living room. Add to the fact that it's trying to kill me (I somehow managed to slit my wrist open reaching towards the light switch on the wall) and it earns it's nickname of 'the Death-House' quite well, I think.
So now Freshers' week is over regular lectures and lessons have begun again. We've no Hagiwara-sensei this year (which means no Yan-san either!), though we do have Kaji-sensei who talks a mile a minute, leaving us poor bewildered students to try and catch a couple of words from the flood of Japanese. However, she told us today that her dream is to come and teach classes wearing a cuddly animal suit, so it can't be all bad! Lectures this year look to be about as fascinating as the ones last year, a particular highlight of the course should be the one entitled "Japan - the Wet Rice Revolution"
I know *I* can hardly wait.
Oh, and as an extra bonus my DVD of Red Dwarf randomly has a copy of the first episode dubbed in Japanese, so since there aren't any subtitles I can sit around watching that and call it revising!

When being sad, mad, depressed, stressed, and angry u need to kill demons (not humans or sibilings or Boyfriends) to make u feel better and then loving ur Bishies. It always works!!

Woah.... someone who likes Final Fantasy, who actually knows about FF6, and also happens to like GetBackers and Wolf's Rain. ... You are awesome.

I'll have to come back and comment on all your art individually, but so far I'm liking what I see. :D

Paranoia is a very comforting state of mind. If you think they're out to get you, it means you think you matter.
